Posta fra le rovine dell’antica abside della chiesa, Andamento in rosso si rivela nella sua complessità all’avvicinarsi dello spettatore. In inglese Redshift, l’installazione si riferisce al fenomeno astronomico per cui l’universo in espansione tende ad assumere tale colore. Un grande disco circolare retroilluminato rappresenta la volta celeste visibile da Noto la notte fra 7 e 8 agosto 2022, ed è circondato da 8 aste reggenti altrettanti pennacchi rossi e simboleggianti le note di un celebre rapporto musicale, il circolo delle quinte. Immagine, luce e suono concorrono al canto delle stelle, una sinergia cosmica illusoria, ma intensamente ispiratrice.

Placed among the ruins of the church’s previous abside, Andamento in rosso unveils its complexity as the watcher approaches. Redshift in English, the installation refers to the astronomic phenomenon whereby the expanding universe tends to take that color. A large circular backlit disc represents the celestial vault as visible in Noto the 7/8 August 2022 night. Eight rods surmounted by red plumes around the disc symbolize the notes of the circle of fifths, a well known musical rapporto. Images, light, and sound concur to the song of the stars, an illusory, though intensely inspiring, cosmic synergy.
