Serendipity, o della labilità dei confini fra fortuna, sorte, caso, e fato, destino, necessità. I termini cambiano con le civiltà, dalle accezioni mitiche all’era positivista e scientifica. Ma dalla coppia caso/necessità, familiare alla fisica, alla coppia ancestrale fortuna/fato, permane la parentela concettuale. E nella poetica dell’artista la scoperta dell’altro mentre si è alla ricerca di se stessi, o viceversa, restituisce appieno la continuità fra passato e presente e si candida a persistere nel futuro. Un ‘ opera senza tempo, che rivendica il diritto all’eternità del privilegio umano di “fare per caso inattese e felici scoperte, mentre si sta cercando altro” (Enciclopedia Treccani - Voce: Serendipity).

Serendipity, or about the blurred boundaries among fortune, luck, case, and fate, destiny, necessity. Although the wording is changing with civilizations, the conceptual meaning doesn’t from the mythic to the positivist/scientific connotation. And in the artist’s poetic, the discovery of the other while one is looking for himself (or the other way around), gives back in full the continuity between past and present, and is suited to persist in the future. Hence, an out of time work, that claims the right to the sustainment of the human privilege of “doing by hazard unexpected and happy discoveries, while looking for something else”.
