L’artista concilia nella forma sferica un’interpretazione politica ed estetica. Il materiale richiama il filo spinato che delimita abitualmente i confini tra territori ostili; ma, arrotolato su sé stesso, esso perde la sua funzione disgregativa e costruisce un mondo concentrato in sé, senza più passaggi liberi e possibilità di attraversamento dello spazio. Il mondo umano è fuori dal proprio contesto: chi lo abita non può conoscerlo, e si ritrova spettatore esterno di un pianeta dal nucleo di ferro, volto dall’esterno verso l’interno. La stessa linearità del materiale così vistosamente ridondante si contrappone alla forma che lo contiene e lascia trasparire le infinite variabili interne che compongono anche una dimensione perfetta come la sfera. Tra queste, la più immediatamente evocativa evocativa è l’associazione sfera/palla, un accostamento che l’artista sollecita, spingendosi a proporre l’uso interattivo dell’opera. Così come il bambino calcia una palla, senza parole né regole predeterminate, nascerebbe allora una comunicazione forte, non convenzionale, dalle azioni dei partecipanti. E con gli atteggiamenti infantili liberati da questa lettura si disinnesca il significato iniziale trasmesso dalla sfera e si attiva un linguaggio meno intellettualizzato e più pratico. Ogni spettatore si riscoprirà collegato agli altri dall’idea del gioco e non più escluso dal mondo, ma compartecipe di un nuovo insieme sociale.

The artist combines in a round shape a both political and esthetic reading. The material recalls the barbed wire usually placed at the boundaries of hostile areas; though, rolled up on itself as it is, its disruptive function fades away and is superseded by a self-concentrated world, void of free accesses and options of space crossing. The human world is out of its context: its dwellers cannot know it, and are just outer observers of an iron planet turned from outside in. The very straightness of such a redundant material is at odds with the shape containing it, and reveals the endless inner variables found even within a perfect sphere. Among them, the most immediately evocative is the association sphere/football, a relationship intentionally urged by the artist, who looks forward to an interactive use of the work. Likewise a child kicking a ball, wordlessly and out of preset rules, it would then arise a strong and unconventional interaction out of the players’ actions. And through the childish attitudes freed by this reading, the initial signification of the sphere would be dismantled, and a less intellectualistic and more practical language would step in. All observers would connect with one another, and none dropped out, thanks to the idea of the game. All being partakers of a new social whole.
