Cappotto’s observatory was inspired by an experience in Berlin, by the precarious structures whereby those living under the communist regime tried to observe what happened in the Western side. In his transfiguration, this historic symbol for freedom “becomes the access to an explorative dimension, the antechamber of other dimensions that titanically meet and clash with one another. It is at the same time a source and the site of storage, structuration of points of view and their contingent destructuration, stabilization and misting of truths, of their time, as well as of the spaces where they cement…The physical and material poverty of a structure risen to spiritual richness on top of which enjoy visible and first and foremost imaginary experiences”. Luciano Armeli Iapichino.
