Ci sono opere che prendono forma velocemente ed altre che hanno bisogno di sedimentazione, ripensamenti e ricerca. Alcune, semplicemente, non si riescono a realizzare per problemi tecnici. La storia di Io abito è un po’ questa. L’idea di realizzare un abito sartoriale con una coperta isotermica è ormai lontana e i primi tentativi, falliti, sono stati dimenticati. L’opera simboleggia la volontà di trovare uno spazio abitativo di accoglienza e di protezione. Chiaro riferimento all’abito di feltro di Beuys, qui il primo soccorso si fa decorativo e l’abbraccio è offerto alla telecamera. La coperta isotermica non è di materiale prezioso, ma diviene preziosissima grazie alla sua utilità e nell’ aspetto estetico. L’oro e l’argento volgono ironicamente in bellezza la tragedia, dando spazio ad un cortocircuito intellettuale.

There are works that quickly take shape and others that need more thoughts, rethinking and researches. A few of them simply do not overcome their technical problems. This is the story of Io abito, the work inspired by the double meaning of the word “abito” in Italian. “Io Abito” that translates as “I live here” and “Abito” that translates as “Dress”. The original idea of creating a tailored suit with an isothermal blanket is no longer the goal of the project and the first unsuccessful attempts of realizing it have been already forgotten. The new work represents the idea of a welcoming and protected living space. There is a clear reference to the felt suit of Beuys, but here the concept of a first aid resumes in decor and the physical act of a hug is delivered to the camera. The isothermal blanket is not only valuable for the material it is made of, but is much more precious for its use and appearance. The gold and silver metals ironically embellish the tragedy, creating a short-circuit of thoughts.

ME AND YOU END ME AND ME END YOU... si sostituiscono una all’altra, in un ritmo serrato, consentendo la costruzione delle diverse combinazioni: ME AND ME. ME END ME. YOU AND YOU. YOU END YOU. ME AND YOU. ME END YOU. YOU AND ME. YOU END ME... Ogni frase contiene significati profondamente diversi, e questo alternarsi rapido e scostante, sottolinea, silenzioso, ma implacabile, il mutamento delle relazioni tra il nostro io e l’altro, ma anche tra noi stessi. END e AND, così simili nella pronuncia, ma opposti nel loro significato, cambiano così profondamente il senso della frase (e quindi il senso della relazione tra noi e l’altro) da lasciare spiazzati, ma anche perplessi. In ciascuna combinazione possiamo trovare il nostro rifugio, ma anche il nostro dilemma, il nostro conforto o il nostro fallimento, ma la velocità del movimento non ci consente di approfondire troppo: appena abbiamo realizzato cosa c’è scritto, tutto cambia di nuovo. ME AND YOU END ME AND ME END YOU…alternate with one another, at a fast rhythm, allowing for the construction of the different combinations: ME AND ME. ME END ME. YOU AND YOU. YOU END YOU. ME AND YOU. ME END YOU. YOU AND ME. YOU END ME... Each sentence contains sharply different meanings, and this rapid and unfriendly alternation underlines in a silent, but implacable way, the change in the relations between our self and the other, but also within ourselves. END and AND, as similar by pronunciation as opposite in signification, reverse the sentence meaning (and therefore the meaning of the relationship between us and the other), leaving us displaced, and even perplexed. In each combination we can find our refuge, but also our dilemma, our comfort or our failure, but the movement speed does not allow to delve too deeply: as soon as we realize what we read, everything changes again.
