L’opera trasmette l’alta tensione fra la dimensione ludica, evocatrice di forme e suggestioni infantili, e una componente inospitale e insidiosa, fatta di oggetti e trame respingenti. Cruciale per l’artista, il concetto di decoro, nel duplice senso di decorazione e decenza. Nel contesto architettonico e urbanistico, questa duplicità configge con le libertà personali e politiche degli individui, specie laddove si materializza in muri e barriere militarizzate. Inevitabile, in questo senso, il riferimento alla condizione sociopolitica cipriota.

The work materializes the tension between a ludic dimension, evoking childish shapes and suggestions, and the inhospitable and dangerous component carried by repelling objects and patterns. The artist focus is on the double meaning of decoration and decency embraced by the concept of decorum. In the architectonic and urbanistic context, this duplicity conflicts with the individual personal and political freedoms, all the more so where it results in walls and militarized curtains. Quite obvious, from this point of view, the reference to Cyprus sociopolitical situation.
