Biava’s work is inspired to the laws of nature. Her forms are built following precise
directions and specific informations. Through the last ten years, she has been working with mathematics and analytic geometry, in order to create, understand, and act upon the matter and the form. According to the artist, information, matter and energy interact in the shaping of what we see, of our reality. And Biava uses clay as the matter, mathematics as information, and her action as the energy, including the
performative element. Thus, both process and product coexist in her works.
