Un sentimento normalmente sgradevole costringe lo spettatore a un esercizio di apprendimento, di autocontrollo, in attesa di una svolta narrativa. Ma l’aspettativa è intenzionalmente delusa dall’artista, nient’affatto incline a deviare dal suo intento: guadagnare l’attenzione dello spettatore su quanta vacuità e insensatezza governi l’apparente telos della vita dell’uomo.

Boredom is the common thread of Mirabella’s long video. A usually annoying feeling engages the watcher in a learning exercise, a self-control exercise, waiting for a narrative turn. Though, this expectation is deliberately frustrated by the artist, who is firmly unwilling to deviate from his purpose: getting the watcher’s attention on how much vacuity and meaninglessness pervade the apparent telos of human life.
