…Tra la materia e l’oggetto c’è uno scarto. Tra la foresta e una scultura di Angelo c’è lo spreco, proprio ciò che avanza, che non entra in un progetto. Ecco allora data la ‘materia’ per l’opera, un oggetto smarritosi nella logica della progettualità contemporanea. Tra materiale naturale e materia per una forma la differenza non potrebbe essere più gridata, più esibita, offerta ai sensi. La dimostrazione, efficace con il legno, funziona anche con il ferro, la ghisa. La stessa lontananza. È il vaccino. Tasselli, tessere: termini che presuppongono altro da sé, una dimensione, un piano d’appoggio mentale, con un respiro lungo da riportarti alla realtà. Allora intravedi la storia delle cose, un’ontogenesi…Si ricostituisce un’esperienza. Quanto riconosco in queste opere il marchio del mio secolo! Mauro Panzera.

…Between the matter and the object there is a disparity, as between the forest and an Angelo’s sculpture there is the waste, precisely what was left over, what isn’t admitted in the project. Here you have what of the matter is allowed into the work, an object lost within the logic of contemporary undertaking. Between the natural material and the matter for a form lies a difference that could not be more shouted, more exhibited, or offered to the senses. The proof is effective with wood, though it works equally well with iron sheets, with cast iron. The same distance. The uniqueness of the material consistency is gone. Plugs, tesserae: words that presuppose more than what they say, an alien dimension, a mental supporting device, accompanied by a deep breath that bring you back to reality. Then you will guess the history of things, an ontogenesis…An experience is thus rebuilt. How much these works carry the marks of my century! Mauro Panzera.
