“Looping” è una manovra aeronautica acrobatica detta anche “giro della morte”. Il termine rinvia a “loop”, anche se in italiano significa letteralmente “descrivere un cerchio nell'aria su un piano verticale”. Tenendo insieme le idee di circolarità e rischio, looping sottolinea un intercorrere temporale continuo, proiettato in avanti, senza possibilità di ripensamento e assestamento. Il video riflette quindi sullo spazio e sul tempo, e su come il procedere costante verso luoghi sconosciuti, usufruendo di mezzi sempre più veloci, amplifichi in un crescendo senza fine i limiti d’azione dell’uomo. Questo effetto è scandito come al metronomo dal martelletto che picchia sulla conchiglia, producendo un risultato che allude all’esaurirsi della materia umana, ovvero al logoramento di un corpo con l’avanzare del tempo, fino al deperimento.

“Looping” is an aeronautic acrobatic maneuvering also known as the “death ride”. Though going back to “loop”, the literal Italian wording is “drawing a circle in the air on a vertical plane”.By putting together the ideas of circularity and risk, looping stresses a continuous temporal passing, a thrown forward process, with no chances of rethinking and settling. Thus, the video is about space and time, as well as on how an endless advance towards unknown destinations, by faster and faster devices, expand the limits of human action by an interminable crescendo. This effect is punctuated in the guise of a metronome by the hammer striking the shell and delivering an outcome that alludes to the exhaustion of the human matter, i.e. the wearing down of a body as time goes by, until its waisting.
